Last night I made some Tator Tots under the impression they were safe. I filled the kitchen with that lovely Tot scent (brought me right back to elementary school) and I was salivating at the thought of gettin' into 'em. Then I read the ingredients more closely and Karen verified that dextrose is a no-no.
Tortured myself.
Threw out the tots.
Ate asparagus with pesto instead.
Almond butter, apple butter rice cakes for dessert.

I have not yet found a safe potato chip. They all seem to have an illegal oil in them- even the baked ones.

  1. I second Owen's claim that the tater tots were pure torture. We were so close to pure tatery goodness... the salty crunchy outside...the soft lovely inside. Why oh why did the 365 brand have to add Dextrose? What IS Dextrose?
I had Sushi today with brown rice. Seems like it might fit the bill, but in the aftermath of the feast I am concerned about the wasabi - is that legal?

  2. I cannot imagine the torture of having to throw them out! Sounds horrible.

But, I applaud both of you for being so GOOD, and not giving in. Even in the face of the tot smell. Dextrose, and everything-trose, hides and lurks like a little elf.

But, that little elf can't fool you.

    BRAVO!
