Day NINE

After about 48 hours of just not feeling very satisfied and sort of hungry all the time.... last night we hit the satisfaction jackpot:

Spiced lentil casserole with cabbage salad (thank u K & O!)

Who could have imagined that unsweetened coconut was HEARTY?

But, thank goodness, because even a little talula pot roast was starting to sound awfully good.

Still managing to feel fairly OK without caffeine in the mornings, but very much missing the ritual. I have found that just having something warm, that smells good, and heats my paws -- is really what I love about morning coffee. (And of course, the smell.) It continues to be painful to walk by Starbucks and let the aroma fill up the nostrils........ sigh.

  1. Last night's meal really did take the cake (a non-dairy, non-wheat, sugarfree one, of course)!
The lentil casserole was amazing and thought-provoking. Who knew coconut could achieve such depth of consistency and taste?

I agree with you that the ritual is missed... a warm cup in the morning, a sweet afternoon treat, hot cocoa at night while watching "Celebrity Fit Club"...(well, everything except the Celebrity Fit Club. That is NOT a ritual of mine. I have standards!)

I find myself looking longingly in Starbucks' window, even though normally I hate Starbucks. And today I tortured myself by taking a lap through DiBruno's during lunch hour, just to look at everything delicious we cannot eat. It was truly, and only, a visual feast.

  2. You are so BRAVE to walk through DiBruno's!

I don't think I could handle that... quite yet.

But, I am sure it fueled the first (and definitely not last) "reintroduction" meal ideas... that may involve a little something like this: DiBruno cheese + Talluto's fresh pasta perhaps?!
